Chat context transfer

A fresh chat with the context that still matters.

When an AI conversation becomes long, contradictory or cluttered, you do not have to restart from zero. V8Chat can branch a new chat at a selected message and carry over a bounded relevant part of the conversation. Normal memory controls remain separate.

01

Branch from the right point

Choose the message that represents the valid working state and start a new branch from there. The original chat remains available while the new chat continues from a cleaner point.

02

Explicitly inherit context or start fresh

When creating the new chat, conversation-context carry-over can be enabled or disabled. This lets you decide whether the new branch needs earlier discussion or should deliberately start without it.

03

Bounded context instead of copying an unlimited history

V8Chat does not automatically duplicate an unlimited old conversation. Context carry-over is bounded and aligned with the selected branch point so the new chat stays manageable.

04

Memory and company knowledge stay separate

Inherited conversation context is not the same as personal memory or approved company knowledge. Those layers remain separately controlled.

FAQ

FAQ

Is the entire old chat copied into the new chat?

No. Context carry-over is bounded and tied to the selected branch point. The original conversation remains separate.

Can I start the new chat without earlier conversation context?

Yes. Context inheritance can be explicitly disabled when branching.

Is inherited chat context the same as long-term memory?

No. Conversation context belongs to the new chat. Personal memory and approved company knowledge remain separately controllable.
