Scratch should not become a second archive. Its value is selection: current goal, valid decisions, relevant files, open questions and assumptions that no longer apply.
Use it before a major topic change or handover. A colleague can continue from the short state instead of reading every previous message.
If Scratch grows too long, split the work into a new task or space. A handover note should reduce context, not recreate the entire chat.
