MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. In simple terms, it is a shared connection standard that lets one AI application use functions provided by another system.
Personal MCP access in V8Chat starts turned off. Enable it only when you intentionally want to connect V8Chat to another compatible AI app, agent or automation.
After enabling access, create a personal access key for the workspace you want to connect. The key belongs to your account and that workspace. Treat it like a password and only give it to applications you trust.
A connected MCP client can search available V8Chat capabilities, inspect required inputs, execute approved capabilities and read the status of longer-running jobs.
If you work only inside V8Chat, simply leave MCP turned off. This does not change normal V8Chat usage.
